Fruits and Veggies Galore!

Dr. Kristina Fruechtl Blog

In the middle of frigid Minnesota winters, when the outside temperature is consistently below zero degrees Fahrenheit for a few days, fresh fruits and veggies may be the last thing you feel like eating!   While you instead turn to comfort food, keep in mind the nutrients that are contained in a variety of colorful fruits and veggies and then the nutrient depleting effects of consuming processed grains and sugar. I found this article in my inbox this morning from the Mayo Clinic Diet: 5 easy ways to eat more fruits and veggies.  While I don’t necessarily agree with using a “diet” and would recommend adopting lifestyle nutritional changes that can be maintained long-term as a progressively new way of making choices, the Mayo Clinic Diet information seems to have some really great down-to-earth information.

Eating more fruits and veggies will also support any New Year’s Resolutions to exercise more, as it will give you more energy!  If you’re following this blog and trying new foods or picking up your old favorites, I’d love to here which ones you like!…My favorite is any kind of berry…
