Go GREEN! (With your smoothies)

Spinach. Kale. Swiss Chard.

 

Not usually one’s favorite food, these are packed with powerhouse nutrients!  Try them in a smoothie and this may disguise the flavor a bit, and also make them easier to digest while still offering the fiber benefits.

Here’s one to try:

1 scoop protein powder (any flavor)

1 tablespoon flax seeds

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1/4 cup frozen berries (blueberries, cherries, raspberries, strawberries – take your pick!)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup spinach (or more!)

1/2 – 3/4 cup almond milk (unsweetened)

1/4 – 1/2 cup water

You may need to alter the liquid depending upon how think you like your smoothie.
